About Me
Hi, I'm Nanette. I'm the homebody mama of the Loverbee clan. I get excited about cheese trays and crudité platters. I go gaga over a good soup recipe. I'm obsessed with pretty linens and cake stands. I love creating artsy and crafty projects for me and my kids. We love food and wood and paper and tape and getting ourselves into all sorts of projects. My house is never clean, but our home is always filled with happy adventure. Oh, and baking is my favorite!!

I hate glitter (one of many pet peeves I'll go into at a later date) and love to make up words. You may have already noticed this tendency around the blog; I make no apologies. I'm also an avid silly song writer and cheerleader of the self-proclaimed variety.

I'm a spiritual director by training, a baker by nature, and a mama way down deep in my heart. First and foremost I belong to God. I am His and He is mine and we will never be apart. Everything I do is based, or seeks to be based, on this reality.

I spend my days teaching my kids at home, trying to keep our house from looking like a junk yard, cooking tasty dinners that make us not want to eat out (although we are still addicted to eating out), and baking whenever I can.

About Our Family
We are a family of five living out in the country in California's Central Coast. Hy husband is a good man who works long hours at a resort while my two boys, 7 and 5, put in short hours in school. We believe in leaving a lot of space in our day for play, art, creativity, and outdoor nonsense. Our baby girl is the cherry on top (as her Auntie Michelle would say). She is a precious joy that makes life far sweeter and much harder these days. 

My husband and I are on a mission to live lives that glorify God, to protect and invest in our marriage, to raise little gentlemen and a lady with intentional lessons that boost them towards character, integrity, responsibility, and love. We also seek to provide a safe space for our children to be able to be open and honest with what is in their hearts - good or bad. We believe in living in reality.

Why do we call ourselves the Loverbees? My mom came up with that nickname after Matthew and I got married. It stuck.

About This Blog
I love to write. There is so much going on in our lives that I would love to share to inspire and encourage other families - and commiserate a little too. I want to share fun ideas about art and food and activities. I also want to share the truth about family life. We're just a bunch of weirdos, just like everyone else, sometimes bouncing over flower-laden hills and sometimes sliding off the slimiest foul colored slope of this thing called life. 

This blog is a peek into our world. Sometimes it's beautiful and fun, sometimes it's messy and stressful, sometimes it's even heartbreaking. This is one family's life. We've got a lot to give and this is one way we can. Welcome to our world.
