These Mini Easter Treat Baskets are made out of tea boxes. |
These Mini Easter Treat Baskets are just perfect for giving out your favorite Easter cookies, candies, and goodies.
Here's what you'll need for this project:
1 tea box per basket
a longer box (like a waffle box) for making the handles (you should get 4 to 6 handles out of one waffle sized box)
a stapler
pastel tempera paint and paint brushes
pastel/spring ribbon or Easter stickers for decorating
pastel colored tissue paper

Start by carefully undoing the glued seams of your tea box. Turn it inside out and glue back together along those same seams. Then cut off the top flaps of your little box so that you have an open container.

Next, cut two lengths off of your waffle box about 1" wide. Staple them together in the middle and then staple each end down into each side of your box.

Paint the boxes and let them dry. I put out the pastel temperas and let the boys pick their colors.

Once the boxes are dry, you can decorate with stickers or staple a pretty ribbon round the outside.
